Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum Gets New Classic Cars

The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum would be holding their very first Annual Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum Benefit Extravaganza and as part of this event the museum would be actually having a live automobile auction. In fact automobiles that would be auctioned off during the mentioned event would include a 1936 Cord 810 Westchester Sedan. If you are interested you can bid for that vehicle or you also can bid for a 1929 Chrysler Imperial Roadster. These are the two new vehicles which have been added to the list of vehicles to be auctioned off.

These classic vehicles that would be auctioned off are actually considered to be quite unique in their own ways. In fact the 1936 Cord 210 Westchester Sedan is one of the 401 units that have been produced with a bustle trunk. And the chances of finding the other 400 are quite slim especially if the units have not been maintained well. As per the Chrysler Imperial Roadster 1929 model this classic car has a Locke body and has been a Classic Car Club of America CCCA and an Antique Automobile Club of America AACA senior winner.

Proceeds for the mentioned auction would be going to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum. If you are interested you would have to shell out 100 per person for tickets. This would be an event that you would not want to pass you by especially if you are a lover of classic cars.

Aside from the two mentioned vehicles that would be auctioned off you also could opt to bid for a 1930 Auburn Speedster which has gone through a bodyoff restoration. There also would be a 1976 Cadillac El Dorado Bicentennial Convertible that is quite in good shape with only 32 miles in its odometer.

When maintaining classic cars it is quite difficult to find parts for it. However for Oldsmobile parts and Plymouth parts you can find these at Auto Parts Corner and you can be assured that they are durable and has a very low price tag attached to it.

ATV Wheels And Tires

ATV wheels have the same characteristic: defined threads durable tear and snag resistant tire material and large balloon like construction.

Definitely the most ingenious aspect of ATV is in its wheels no arguments. ATVs defining factor is the ATV wheels making it possible for ATVs to travel and work even in the absence of roads.

All ATV wheels have the same characteristic: large defined threads or knobs for better traction in all kinds of terrain extra durable tear and snag resistant material for the tire bodies to protect it against puncture from sharp objects and large balloonlike construction to help the wheels avoid small pits and rocks on the trail. It also helps the wheel climb out of any obstacle. And in some cases afford flotation.

When necessity initiated the ATVs invention in Japan ATV wheels were the deciding factor in its success. Osamu Takeuchi led the development team that was assigned by Honda Research Development to develop a vehicle suited for winter travel. The outcome was the development team spawning a prototype vehicle with six ATV wheels. But still the invention didnt have the cutting edge technology that will enable it to meet the demand.

However when Osamu Takeuchi got hold of an American invention called the Amphi Cat the design process quickly hasten to completion. The Amphi Cat had rolled on six 20 inch low pressure high flotation balloon tires and Osamu Takeuchi revamped his ATV invention until it can accept the Amphi Cats wheel which became the trademark of modern day ATV wheels.

To date there are various types of ATV wheels that are designed to meet specific terrain conditions. Though most wheel types still work adequately on other terrain there are such ATV wheels that would perform poorly on a specific terrain. One instance would be the race tires against sand dunes.

Race Tires
Usually developed to create greater traction on different conditions this wheel type has defined knobs and threads. Also some of these tires are flatter to afford ample hold on the terrain.

Trail Tires
Trail tires are created to be more durable to defend against punctures against sharp objects such as rocks or wood splinters. Some of these tires are large balloonlike construction to afford flotation defense against sinking in bogs and sandy parts in soggy terrain and mud.

Sand Tires
These tires are also called Paddle Tires since the threads do exactly just that to paddle. These tires are usually made balloonlike with few but enormously large threads. The balloon construction will help avoid sinking even in the softest sand and the enormous threads afford traction.

Atv Riding – A Growing Family Sport

ATV riding a growing sports and entertainment for the family

There is certainly no doubt about it ATV riding has become one of the fastest growing sports in town and its popularity is gaining great momentum each year. This is the kind of entertainment that suits just about anyone in the family from the kids to the teenagers to the parents and in some cases even to the grandparents! There is just so much enthusiasm and positive response toward ATV riding and a lot of people are becoming more receptive to the idea of riding an ATV. The number of people joining in ATV races and riding contests especially the kids shows that ATV riding is definitely here to stay.

However with such increase of interest in ATV riding it is important that the general public is made aware of the basic rules of ATV riding. Most first timers to the racetracks are eager to win and ride with speed that they forget the basic rules of ATV riding. If you are bringing your kid to his or her first racing experience it is your duty to ensure that they understand and follow the rules and regulations of racing. It has always been a thumb rule that ATV riders are to be polite and nice to each other on the racetrack even if you are all charged up to win the race. The race will not be fun anymore if we have racers who refuse to adhere to such a simple rule. Remember if you do not teach your kids good manners on the racetrack they could endanger their own lives as well as the lives of the other ATV riders.

At Jackel Motorsports we have always stressed the importance of safety in ATV riding and being in a race does not mean that you can violate the safety issues involved. We strongly discourage riders from swearing at each other or showing unruly behavior or signs when they are in the racetracks. Such behaviors are intolerable and offensive to other fellow ATV riders. Be sure that you tell your kids that they are required to stick by the rules at all times. For more rules and safety regulations while riding an ATV you could visit our website at www.jackel.com or one of the popular ATV sites at www.atvoutdoors.net

There is also one trick that you should never pull while you are in a race that is the dusting trick. Dusting means riding on high speed past other ATV riders and leaving a cloud of dust on the faces of the other riders. This trick is only funny when you are riding with your own friends but it is definitely not funny to those whom you do not know so never try to pull a stunt like this one on the racetracks. If you are really keen to show off some of your ATV riding skills or tricks try some of those that will not offend the other riders.

Also if you happen to ride past another rider and you see that he or she is having problems with his or her machine you should at least stop and ask if they need help. Dont just ride by them as if you didnt notice them at all. If you were in their shoes wouldnt you feel grateful if another fellow rider stopped by to help?

ATV riding is one great way for family entertainment but it can only be a lot more fun when everyone involved knows and follows the basic rules. Dont try to be different by ignoring the rules of ATV riding. It is always better to go with the flow in this case than against it!
