Tatas Nano has taken away all the attention from other cars. Yet to hit on the Indian roads Nano was unveiled at the 9th Auto Expo at Pragati Maidan New Delhi. Nano received recognition not only domestically but also globally. The car is expected to will be launched commercially by October as a Diwali gift. But why the tata named its ultracost car as Nano?
The name was opted to reflect the size and the trend. Nano will be available in both petrol and diesel version. This fourseater is empowered with 624cc; two cylinder engines delivering 33 bhp. The boot is smaller as the engine is fitted at the back and giving more interior space. It is also enhanced with independent front and rear suspension and instrument panel centrally placed. It is the 4speed manual transmission and ensures safety as the car is undergone complete frontal crash test as per the standard norms as well as the Bharat 3 Euro 4 emission norms.
Nano is 8 cent shorter when compared with Maruti 800 on bumperto bumper length but is 21 per cent more spacious in interior volume. Tata offers Nano in three variants Base model and two Deluxe models with AC. The Base model carries the price tag of Rs. 1 Lakh exshowroom excluding VAT and transportation charges. In the process of developing Nano Tata adds 40 patents. For the further information on its performance and technology we have to wait till it hits the Indian road. But now Nano will be still cheaper as the government has reduced tax on small cars. Nano has given tough competition to other car makers that even many of them are planning to roll out small and lowcost cars to India.
