The component speakers have what are known as series of frequency filters referred to as crossover filters.
The use of the crossover filters enables the component speaker to produce high quality sound without any distortions. The crossover filters are able to prevent sound distortions by transferring only audio signals which the components can be able to handle. For instance the crossover filter directs signals with high frequencies between 10000 to 20000 Hz to the tweeters while low frequency signals of between 2510000 are filtered to the woofers. Another type of car stereo speakers are the sub woofers which can reproduce low sound frequencies that are below or closer to 100 Hz. Sub woofers are normally speakers ranging fromeight inches or bigger but because of their bigger size they require additional amplifier power than coaxial or component speakers.
To be able to effectively produce low range sound frequencies subwoofers must be placed in an enclosure.
